Comal County Emergency Services District #5 (CCESD#5) announces a land donation for new emergency services station to improve EMS service for the western Bulverde area. |
The Bulverde area is experiencing significant growth, increasing the demand for emergency services in western Comal County. The need for a new station, located in the western area of Bulverde, was identified by CCESD#1, CCESD#4, CCESD#5, and Bulverde Spring Branch Emergency Services (BSBES) as a result of joint long-term planning efforts and past ISO studies. A new EMS station located in this area will improve emergency responsiveness in this area by reducing the time required to arrive on scene fully equipped. Accordingly, CCESD#5 initiated project development activities for Station #5 last year.
We are pleased to announce that Ronnie and Terry Urbanczyk, of Bulverde, have committed to donating the land needed to build Station #5, located on SH 46, about 5 miles west of US 281. CCESD#5 has agreed in principal to accept this donation, enabling us to move forward with all aspects of Station #5 design and permitting. We will be working with the Urbanczyk’s in the coming months to finalize and formally accept this donation.
Construction of Station #5 is scheduled to begin in 2021 and is expected to be in operation by the Spring of 2022.
